Efficient master data maintenance and automated workflows improve data quality and increase productivity

Blaser Group: Successful introduction of the APICON Data Master for improved master data processes

Briefly explained!

Significant progress has been made, particularly in the area of material master data.

In order to improve the management and quality of its master data, the Blaser Group implemented the APICON Data Master. The main challenge was to increase efficiency and accuracy in the maintenance of material master data and evaluations. The existing, isolated SharePoint workflow for master data maintenance in particular was causing data inconsistencies and slowing down processes.

The challenge

Outdated workflows and inconsistent master data were hampering efficiency. The Blaser Group needed a solution to modernize its material master data management.

The Blaser Group was previously working with a SharePoint workflow for material master data maintenance that was not integrated into the SAP system. This led to repeated errors in the master data, for example in costing, purchasing info records and price lists. As the Blaser Group operates with a large number of material types and a complex, international sales network, a solution was required that would improve data quality and make maintenance processes more efficient.

The success

The decision for APICON

With the introduction of the APICON Data Master, the existing challenges could be tackled in a targeted manner. The material master creation process was automated and controlled via a clear task management system. The maintenance of business partners and the management of conditions in the sales area were also optimized. The modular structure of the Data Master enabled rapid implementation, and the first results could be seen in the system after just a few weeks.

The APICON Data Master has established itself as an indispensable tool for the Blaser Group. In addition to master data maintenance, it also supports numerous workflows and offers a wide range of evaluation options. The ease of use and the possibility of individual configuration have significantly increased user acceptance.

Outlook

Future enhancements to the Data Master

In the future, the Blaser Group plans to further expand the use of the APICON Data Master. In particular, the implementation of a workflow for material outflow and the integration of additional data objects such as price information and business partners are in focus. The Data Master is also to be integrated into the new logistics systems in order to further automate processes and increase efficiency.
