With sunshine and blue skies, the APICON Forum 2018 at Hotel Kapellenberg started again this year with two optional pre-conference workshops for users and interested parties of the APICON Data Master. These workshops provided an ideal opportunity for interactive exchange.
This exchange and networking continued in a relaxed atmosphere during the Franconian wine tasting in the “Romantic Barn” at the Leo Sauer Winery in the evening.
The motto “Error-Free Data for the Digital Value Stream” was the focus of this year’s forum. The program concentrated on how processes in the handling of master and transactional data can be efficiently organized using APICON software solutions. Practical presentations on the integration, modification, and maintenance of SAP data demonstrated how data quality and timeliness can be measured, evaluated, and improved more efficiently.
Prof. Dr. W. Angelika Kreitel gave a keynote titled “Valuable Data Needs Data Protection – Data Security in the Age of Digitalization,” providing valuable insights into data protection and security. This included important implications of the EU GDPR and the question of what meaningful data protection looks like for companies.
Experts from BRITA GmbH, Wieland Electric GmbH, and BRAND GmbH & Co. KG shared their practical experiences with the implementation and use of APICON Data Master and APICONNECT SAP integration. APICON partners presented their solutions for digitized processes from sales to production during the News Flash segment and showcased their latest products.
The management team demonstrated the latest features of the APICON Data Master 2018 in a live presentation and provided a preview of planned developments.
