ABC Analysis Directly in the APICON Data Master: Efficient Material Classification
Many companies analyze materials based on their consumption. The ABC analysis classifies materials according to their importance—from frequently used (A) to less relevant (C). With the APICON Data Master, this classification can now be automated and flexibly mapped.
Analyze and Classify Material Consumption
The basis of the ABC analysis is the total consumption of the previous year. The goal is to identify the most frequently needed materials. The APICON Data Master selects the relevant materials and consumption data across plants. Using rule-based logic, a classification (A, B, or C) is then automatically assigned to the material.
Flexibility Through Customizable Rules
Classification is done using individually definable if-then-else rules. For example, it can be defined for each plant at what consumption volume a material is classified as A, B, or C. These rules can be adjusted at any time—ideal for companies with fluctuating demands or plant-specific characteristics.
How It Works in Practice
Data selection: Materials, classification data, and consumption data are consolidated in the Data Master.
Rule-based analysis: Predefined rules determine the classification based on consumption.
Automatic assignment: After executing the rules, the corresponding classification (A, B, or C) is directly stored on the material.
Benefits at a Glance
Time savings: Automated processing reduces manual effort.
Cross-plant flexibility: Individual classification depending on location.
Easy adjustment: Rules can be changed anytime to adapt to changing conditions.
With this solution, material consumption can be analyzed and structured in a targeted way. The automated classification provides a solid basis for informed decisions in material management.
